Meet Dr. Shelly Messer, MD, FACOG

Dr. Shelly Messer, board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, grew up in Williston, ND. She attended college at North Dakota State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Food and Nutrition. An additional four years of medical school followed in Grand Forks at the University of North Dakota. After medical school, Dr. Messer performed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology for another four years at the University of Missouri— Kansas City.

Dr. Messer has two children: Mason (20) and Gabrielle (14). She also has a Golden Retriever named Ollie.

In her free time, Dr. Messer loves to spend time with family and friends. She is an avid reader and loves animals. She enjoys scrapbooking, traveling, attending movies, and watersports. She writes a monthly article on women's health for the Lifestyles magazine.

Dr. Messer finds great joy in helping the women who come to her practice. “Women are the caretakers in our country and often are too busy taking care of everybody else to find time for themselves.”
She hopes that women will make time for themselves to ensure they get adequate exercise and rest, as well as find private time to do what they enjoy. “We must strive to be positive role models for our children and others.”
